CLEVELAND – Caught on video, a staff member of the West Park parade tried to silence the message of a pro-life group.
On a day, when in Monticello, during a naturalization ceremony while President Bush was giving a speech filled with nothing more American than free speech – interruptions from new citizens of America throughout his entire speech – free speech was referred to as “too controversial” in Cleveland, Ohio before a simple parade.
From my understanding, someone was offended by a 10-foot banner – which same exact banner was used in last year’s parade – that had the name of the organization on it: Suburban West Right to Life. It had phrases in the corners of the banner that encouraged an end to emergency contraception and abortion.
The staff member, seen in the video, did not say his name, but he did say he was the treasurer of the event. One of the pro-lifers was able to persuade him to obtain a business card. All I know is that his name is Douglas and he’s a CPA. Guess what, our new friend Douglas is going to have millions of Christians praying for him in the name of Jesus Christ.
He told us to go to the back of the parade line before it started. We were already in line about ten from the front, just like last year.
When we got to the end of the line, people encouraged us to move ahead of them because they were worried their music would be too loud for us. We actually made our way up the line about two or three spots. Then, as we were approaching the street, we were told to go to the “other back of the parade.” Evidently, there was another line in the parking lot where we were lined, about which Douglas did not know. So the beginning of the line came around to us before we reached the street.
Anyway, it was a great event. The organization's name was announced like all the others by the DJ. I’ve always said that West Park has received us better than Olmsted Falls, North Olmsted, and other cities. People this year, again, clapped for us and thanked us.
This kind of hate against children though is exposed. If we were a group against the war to “stop the blood-bath in Iraq,” then the communists would not complain. Or if the homosexuals wanted to do their thing (whatever that might be), the communists would not complain. Why? Because of free speech.
This is exactly what the supporters of abortion want to do: They’ve already been doing a good job of silencing the babies by killing them and not giving them the choice of life or death, but they’re also trying to silence their friends. Isn’t that what King George tried to do?
For the record, I must note that a person who was going to walk with the Debbie Sutherland team was recruited by us and walked with us. By the way, the Debbie Sutherland T-shirts are appropriately red. I got a kick out of that. Even Ms. Sutherland herself cannot hide her communism. Seriously, it’s not like the shirts have words in red or red stars; the shirt itself is red with her name in white letters. Doesn’t it cost more for a colored shirt than a white shirt?
