NORTH OLMSTED - Jason Werner, Republican candidate for the 10th Congressional District of Ohio, returned from Atlanta, GA last week.
While in Georgia, Mr. Werner met with Neal White, President of the National Retail Sales Tax Alliance (NRSTA), a national organization working to replace the present federal income tax system with a retail sales tax.
A major bill that Mr. Werner supports, H. R. 25, the Fair Tax, was first introduced in the House by Congressman John Linder (R-GA-7) and later introduced in the Senate by Georgia’s senior senator, Senator Saxby Chambliss (R-GA).
“It is difficult to find anyone who can support the federal income tax mess we now have, and it is now time for Congress to take positive action to solve this problem,” Mr. Werner states.
Mr. Werner strongly supports the complete elimination of the federal income tax and replacement with a national retail sales tax. Mr. Werner believes that the job responsibility of a congressman is to identify and work to solve problems for the benefit of the people of Ohio, not spend the nation’s resources in “Ear Mark. Appropriations” for political purposes only.
Neal White, with whom Mr. Werner and his campaign manager, Joseph Tomaceski, met, said, “With the publication of The Fair Tax Book, authored by national Radio Talk Show Host Neal Boortz and Congressman John Linder, interest in H. R. 25 has received strong interest. The Fair Tax Book was number one on the New York Times Non-fiction Book List for three weeks and continues to be selling very well in bookstores across the country.” Mr. White urged “All citizens from the 10th District of Ohio to support The Fair Tax and to elect a congressman who will work to that end.”
