Should we kill him?
Ohio is scheduled to execute a man April 7. The day is quickly approaching for Brett Hartmann.
http://www.enddeathpenaltyforbretthartmann.com/ As disgusted as I am by the injustice system of America, I believe there is a time and place for true justice. Mr. Hartmann's case has baffled me. I cannot determine if he is guilty of the murder for which he was charged ten years ago.
I've created a friendship with him in recent years through the mail. He's cried innocence in all the corresponce I've been honored to have with him.
So my question to you is; should we follow through with execution or should we plead for Ohio Governor Ted Strickland to have mercy on him?
I suppose there is a chance he is innocent. I, for one, know exactly what it's like to be falsely accused, as it happens to me every day for being a Christian. I suppose it's possible Mr. Hartmann was set up by a prosecutor or government official somehow to hide something else such as drugs, but I just don't know. The evidence is weak on both sides.
